This Saturday from 5 to 7 pm, we will host our monthly wine tasting event at the The Wine Shop in Koloa. We have an amazing selection of wines to share with you.
We will start off the evening with a 2012 Erocia Riesling from Washington State. With its sweet lime and peach aromas and subtle mineral notes, this wine pairs great with Asian cuisine or Indian curries. Next for our tasting will be a Haras Pirque Cabernet Sauvignon from the Maipo Valley in Chile. Haras Winery’s 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is deep purple with hues of red and features the aromas of bitter chocolate, cedar and a hint of mint. Mid palate is black fruit and rosemary with smooth tannins on the finish. Steak, lamb and hard cheeses pair beautifully with this wine. Our third wine brings us to Italy. Villa Antinori Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva 2010 is ruby red in color, with fruits and spice aromas that have a touch of oak, cherry and red berries. A puttanesca pairs nicely with this wine. I always save the best for last! Our fourth wine, 2007 Stella Maris from Northstar Vineyards, is a wonderful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Petite Verdot. This soft and silky wine has vanilla, rich dark chocolate, coconut, raspberry and cherry aromas. Green olive and a long smoky finish complete this multilayered wine, which is perfect with lamb or beef. Hope to see everybody this Saturday from 5-7 pm at The Wine Shop!
