The Wine Shop and The Tasting Room are so excited to welcome Chef Clinton to their ‘Ohana. His experience is unparalleled, his passion for food and wine is evident and his calm demeanor is the perfect touch for the lively kitchen.
Clinton was born and raised in the Philippines, and began cooking at his grandmother’s side as a child. His family (including his influential grandmother) eventually moved to California where Clinton’s fine dining career took off. He worked the kitchens of Chef Makoto Tanaka’s Mako restaurant in Beverly Hills, Chef Wolfgang Puck’s flagship Spago Beverly Hills, and Chef Suzanne Goin’s LA Tavern in Brentwood, among others. Clinton was handpicked by Chef Eric Klein for Maple Drive and later SW Steakhouse at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas. He moved back to the Philippines briefly where he was Head Chef at Grappa’s Ristorante in the busy Makati business district. Upon returning to the United States, Clinton settled on Kauai, where he has impressed diners at several Kauai eateries before sharing his fervor for food and wine at The Tasting Room.
When Clinton is not in the kitchen, he plays music and builds ukuleles and guitars. Welcome Clinton!
